As the Store Manager at PEPCell Katlehong Sontonga, you will lead an energetic retail team to achieve primary business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will cultivate a customer-centric retail environment while maintaining strict operational controls over high-value cellular inventory, expenses, stock loss, cash handling, and store presentation.
This role suits a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands PEP’s low-cost business culture, and can effectively plan, organize, and coach staff to drive daily sales targets in smartphones, accessories, airtime, and financial services.
Key Performance Areas & Primary Responsibilities
Sales Driving & Store Standards

Maximize store turnover and hit financial KPIs through exceptional customer service and high operational standards.

Maintain visual merchandising standards, cellular displays, promotional setups, store image, and overall housekeeping.

Ensure optimal cellular stock management, handset availability, accessories display, and promotional product flow.
Loss Prevention & Risk Mitigation

Minimize stock shrinkage and handset loss rates by maintaining a healthy, accountable team culture.

Enforce PEPCell security measures, high-value stock controls, vault security, and strict daily cash handling procedures.

Conduct regular stock counts, audit stockroom processes, and address variance risks promptly.
Cost Control & Administrative Management

Manage store operating costs in line with PEP’s core low-cost business model.

Drive operational efficiencies in store scheduling, energy usage, and resource management.

Oversee all store administration, compliance audits, banking reconciliations, and reporting guidelines accurately.
Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, motivate, and mentor store staff (“Dynamos”), creating a high-performance working culture.

Oversee continuous staff training on new mobile products, cellular technology, RICA compliance, performance evaluations, and on-the-job coaching.

Maintain general health, safety, and operational safety compliance across the retail premises.
Minimum Requirements – PEPCell Store Manager
Educational Background

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Essential).

Proficiency in English (Essential).

Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Retail, or Logistics) (Advantageous).
Work Experience & Technical Competencies

1 to 2 years of retail management or supervisory leadership experience (Essential).

Experience in cellular retail, consumer electronics, or high-value retail environments (Advantageous).
