As a Shop Assistant at the high-volume Menlyn store, you will be the front-line ambassador of fun and customer care. Your main focus will be driving sales performance by engaging with shoppers, recommending products, demonstrating toys, upselling add-on items, and resolving queries with enthusiasm. • Deliver “AWESOME” customer service to ensure every shopper enjoys a memorable “WOW” retail experience.

• Attend to the unique shopping needs of parents, children, and gift-seekers, placing customer satisfaction first.

• Provide prompt and helpful service on the sales floor as well as over telephone inquiries.

• Determine customer requirements, explaining product features, age appropriateness, prices, and warranties.

Visual Merchandising, Pricing & Promotions

• Ensure all merchandise is correctly priced, shelf-tagged, and displayed according to visual guidelines.

• Implement promotional displays, seasonal end-caps, and advertised sales promotions timeously and according to plan.

• Execute daily shelf facing, stock replenishment, and store housekeeping schedules to maintain pristine shopping aisles.

• Monitor product movement, reporting fast-selling lines and slow-moving stock directly to the Store Manager.

Stock Protection & Store Operations

• Participate actively in regular stock counts, weekly audits, and full store stock takes.

• Maintain vigilance on the sales floor to minimize stock loss, theft, and inventory damage.

• Exercise cost control in your daily duties to minimize unnecessary operating expenses.

• Safeguard company assets, display units, and physical property within your area of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Transport

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) — mandatory baseline requirement

• Own or reliable transport — mandatory to accommodate retail shift rosters, mall operating hours, and weekend work

Work Experience & Key Competencies

• Minimum of 6 months’ practical retail experience on a trading floor — mandatory
