As a Shop Assistant at the West Rand branch, you will be the primary point of contact for store visitors. Your main goal will be to drive store sales turnover by welcoming customers, understanding their unique requirements, demonstrating toy and baby products, suggesting add-on items, and providing prompt, friendly assistance both in-person and over the telephone. Key Performance Areas

Sales Generation & “WOW” Customer Experience

• Provide “AWESOME” customer service to deliver a memorable “WOW” retail experience to every visitor.

• Attend to the unique and individual shopping needs of parents, children, and gift-buyers, always putting the customer first.

• Deliver prompt, polite, and accurate assistance to floor shoppers as well as telephone inquiries.

• Determine customer requirements, advising them on product ranges, age suitability, prices, and warranties.

• Demonstrate and explain products live on the sales floor to engage shoppers and build excitement.

• Drive sales volume by actively promoting add-on goods, accessories, and warranty services.

Visual Merchandising, Pricing & Promotions

• Ensure all merchandise on display is correctly priced, shelf-tagged, and arranged according to planograms.

• Prepare, execute, and maintain advertised sales promotions, seasonal end-caps, and event displays timeously.

• Follow daily housekeeping and shelf-facing schedules to keep aisles clean, tidy, and safe for families.

• Monitor product sales speeds, reporting fast-moving lines and slow sellers directly to the Store Manager.

Stock Protection & Store Operations

• Participate actively in regular stock counts, weekly audits, and full store inventory stock takes.

• Exercise vigilance on the sales floor to minimize shrinkage, damages, and product loss.

• Control store operating expenses within your area of responsibility to maximize store profitability.

• Protect company property, display units, and physical assets at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Transport

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) — mandatory baseline requirement

• Own or reliable transport — mandatory to accommodate retail shift schedules, early/late mall hours, and weekend rosters

Work Experience & Key Competencies

• Minimum of 6 months’ practical retail experience on a trading floor — mandatory

• Demonstrated sales drive, enthusiasm, and a highly target-driven mindset
