Please note that this position requires the successful candidate to work standard retail hours, which strictly includes working on weekends and public holidays according to the company trading roster.

Customer Experience & Styling

Deliver exceptional and memorable customer service to all showroom visitors to ensure repeat patronage. Deeply understand individual customer needs and provide tailored, high-end interior solutions and design advice. Communicate specific material care instructions, product origins, and unique design details effectively to consumers. Maintain world-class showroom standards, ensuring all premium furniture items are priced accurately and displayed beautifully according to corporate visual merchandising guidelines. Stay fully compliant with all required product and brand training programs in line with ongoing company policy.

Sales & Business Development

Consistently meet and exceed monthly and year-to-date cash collected targets net of value-added tax. Achieve and maintain strict adherence to maximum allowed discount targets to protect retail profit margins. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through a variety of innovative business development methods. Build a robust pipeline of high-net-worth clients and retail buyers to secure consistent revenue streams. Actively promote comprehensive styling packages to maximize the average basket value of every single client transaction.

Operational Excellence & Administration

Ensure all customer sales orders are processed efficiently, accurately, and in strict accordance with corporate policy. Manage client accounts diligently from initial deposit payment through to successful final delivery. Handle all service requests and product resolution queries swiftly to maintain maximum consumer satisfaction ratings. Assist with rigorous showroom stock take procedures and continuous inventory management audits. Coordinate studio referrals and collaborate productively with internal design teams to fulfill complex client briefs.

Partner & Decorator Programs

Develop and nurture strong professional relationships within the specialized decorator and partner program framework. Network extensively with local interior designers, architects, and property developers to secure Weylandts as their preferred supplier. Conduct professional walkthroughs of the showroom for trade partners to highlight exclusive new seasonal ranges. Process trade-specific quotes and manage specialized orders for commercial or large-scale residential projects. Track partner referral metrics to optimize the mutual success of the trade collaboration network.

Systems & Compliance

Utilize complex enterprise resource planning systems including Syspro to verify stock availability across national warehouses. Process all point-of-sale transactions and credit applications securely and efficiently. Monitor order fulfillment pipelines to communicate accurate delivery lead times to awaiting clients. Adhere strictly to company financial policies regarding cash handling, refunds, and exchange protocols. Participate actively in regular team meetings to review weekly operational metrics and continuous improvement strategies.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate of complete secondary education.

  • Relevant tertiary diploma or degree is highly advantageous, specifically in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related creative arts discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in a retail sales, interior design, or client-facing premium sales environment.
