This is not a passive retail role. It requires someone who actively manages online order queues, executes accurate inventory picking, validates product quality, and ensures that every customer’s package is perfectly staged and ready before they visit the store. Key Responsibilities

Click & Collect Fulfillment

• Assist the Online Administrator diligently in keeping highly accurate digital and physical records of all customer Click and Collect orders received, picked, packed, and released.

• Ensure all customer orders are correctly identified, picked, and packed as per the generated picking slip to completely avoid any product or quantity discrepancies.

• Guarantee that orders are ready for final collection well before the customer arrives at the store counter, minimizing wait times and maximizing convenience.

• Execute all digital purchases based strictly on standard and consistent Dis-Chem operating procedures and corporate quality benchmarks.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Control stock levels within the online staging area, ensuring that high-demand products are monitored and flagged for immediate shelf replenishment.

• Conduct regular stock counts and participate in perpetual stock take cycles, maintaining accurate e-commerce inventory records at all times.

• Monitor stock movement and report any inventory shortages, damaged items, or expired goods to management immediately to prevent online system errors.

• Assist with the weighing and shipping of specialized customer orders, ensuring accurate dimensional measurements and secure labeling.

Customer Service & Query Resolution

• Resolve customer queries regarding online orders in the fastest, most professional, and appropriate way possible to safeguard customer retention.

• Inform store management of any customer discrepancies or order delays as soon as they arise to proactively enhance consumer satisfaction.

• Engage with collection clients at the service counter in a professional and helpful manner, creating a welcoming and service-oriented experience.

• Promote the ongoing adoption of the Click and Collect system through positive customer interactions and efficient service delivery.

Merchandising & Departmental Housekeeping

• Ensure proper merchandising within the digital order staging zones, keeping all packages neatly filed, labeled, and organized for rapid retrieval.

• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the fulfillment area, keeping packing stations, picking routes, and general store floors clean and tidy.

• Support the visual presentation standards of the store, ensuring that e-commerce collection signage and counters are pristine and professional.

• Verify product pricing and label accuracy when pulling items from the public trading floor to maintain total system compliance.

Administration & Team Cooperation

• Maintain accurate administrative records for all completed and pending online orders in strict accordance with Dis-Chem Pharmacies policy.

• Collaborate productively with front-line cashiers, floor managers, and pharmacy staff to ensure smooth inter-departmental workflows.

• Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by the store supervisor, approaching all assigned duties with a cooperative and willing attitude.

• Constantly strive to improve productivity of the online department, contributing directly to the collective success of the new Leratong branch.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate of complete secondary education — essential minimum requirement.

Experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a relevant fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or retail environment — essential.

• Prior experience working with e-commerce fulfillment systems, stock scanners, or online ordering applications is highly advantageous.
