Frequently Asked Questions – Senior Administration Officer UIF Jobs Western Cape 2026
I applied previously and was not shortlisted — can I re-apply? Yes — you must re-apply. This is a re-advertisement and all previous applications have lapsed. Your previous application will not be considered regardless of when it was submitted. You must submit a new, complete application quoting the correct reference number — HR4/4/10/654 for George or HR4/4/10/655 for Worcester — before the closing date. Previous non-shortlisting does not disqualify you from applying again.
Does my 2 years of experience need to be specifically in UIF or will other client services experience qualify? The requirement is 2 years of functional experience in a client services, claims processing, or insurance environment — UIF-specific experience is not required. Experience in banking, insurance, medical aid claims administration, customer service operations, or any environment where you processed client applications and dealt directly with members of the public qualifies. UIF-specific experience is naturally advantageous but is not listed as a hard requirement.
Can I apply for both George and Worcester? Yes — you may apply for both locations but must submit a separate, complete application for each, quoting the correct reference number and submitting to the correct email address. George applications go to WCJobs-GRG@LABOUR.gov.za and Worcester applications go to WCJobs-WS@LABOUR.gov.za. Sending one application to both emails does not constitute two separate applications.
What does “priority will be given to White Males” mean and can other candidates apply? The EE note states that priority will be given to White Males in the filling of these posts in accordance with the Department’s Employment Equity Plan for the Western Cape. This means White Male candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be given preference in the appointment decision. Candidates from other groups are not prohibited from applying — if no suitable White Male candidate is available, the Department may consider other qualifying candidates. All candidates who meet the minimum qualification and experience requirements are encouraged to submit applications.
What NQF Level 6 qualifications qualify for these posts? NQF Level 6 qualifications recognised for these posts include a 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Public Management or Administration, Business Administration or Management, Financial Accounting, or Finance — as recognised by SAQA. Qualifications from accredited TVET colleges and universities both qualify. If you are uncertain whether your specific qualification meets the requirement, contact Mr M Charles at (044) 801 1223 for George or Mr M Murray at 072 029 8930 for Worcester.
What is the difference between the George and Worcester posts? The duties, salary, qualification requirements, and experience requirements are identical for both locations. The key differences are the physical work location and the number of posts — George has 2 vacancies and Worcester has 4 vacancies. Worcester’s 4 posts offer better appointment odds for qualifying candidates. Apply for the Labour Centre in the town where you live or can commute to daily.
