About the Role

This is a lead qualification and opportunity creation role for experienced sales professionals with strong commercial judgement, a structured approach to pipeline management, and a track record in high-end product sales.

The Sales Consultant serves as the central qualification point for all leads — ensuring that only well-qualified, commercially viable opportunities are advanced to Sales Executives, and that the pipeline remains clean, deliberate, and conversion-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities of a Sales Consultant

Lead Intake & Qualification

  • Act as the central intake point for all leads from Marketing, Sales Executives, the Head of Sales, inbound enquiries, outbound activity, and referrals.
  • Engage leads early to assess intent, fit, timing, and commercial viability.
  • Apply defined qualification criteria to determine whether a genuine sales opportunity exists.
  • Disqualify non-viable leads decisively to prevent pipeline noise and maintain quality standards.

Opportunity Creation & Assignment

  • Create opportunities where clear justification and conversion potential exist.
  • Capture concise, relevant context to support effective handover of qualified inbound and outbound leads.
  • Assign qualified opportunities to the appropriate Sales Executive based on territory, ownership, and capacity.

CRM Management

  • Log all activities, client interactions, qualification outcomes, and relevant information in the company CRM prior to lead handover.
  • Maintain clean pipeline stages and close stalled or invalid opportunities in line with agreed rules.
  • Ensure data integrity across the CRM to support accurate reporting and sound decision-making.

Outbound Activity & Market Feedback

  • Create outbound leads aligned to defined ideal client and project profiles.
  • Apply consistent qualification standards across both inbound and outbound leads.
  • Provide insight to the Head of Sales on lead quality, recurring patterns, territory signals, and targeting gaps.

Reporting & Performance Contribution

  • Contribute to pipeline reporting and sales performance reviews with accurate, timeous data.
  • Support the sales team with insights and feedback that improve targeting and conversion outcomes.
  • Maintain a consistent, process-driven approach to all sales administration and pipeline activity.

Minimum Requirements – Sales Consultant

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high-end product sales (essential)
  • Experience in furniture, manufacturing, or premium lifestyle product sales (advantageous)

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CRM systems — HubSpot preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable qualifying, advancing, or disqualifying leads within a structured sales process
