Key Responsibilities
🛒 Customer Service & Sales
- Serve customers on the shop floor in a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable manner.
- Answer customer questions about merchandise, including product specifications, uses, and availability.
- Provide customers with technical product information and guidance to assist them in making the right purchasing decisions.
- Handle customer queries efficiently, ensuring every interaction reflects the Adendorff standard of service excellence.

💳 Point of Sale & Transactions
- Collect payment accurately and efficiently using the store’s point of sale (POS) system.
- Process cash, card, and other approved payment methods in compliance with branch cash handling procedures.
- Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded and balanced.
- Report any POS discrepancies or system issues to the relevant supervisor promptly.
📦 Stock Management & Replenishment
- Restock shelves and replenish product displays in line with branch merchandising standards.
- Unload deliveries and ensure stock is accurately checked, sorted, and moved to the correct locations.
- Assist with stock taking and stock control procedures as directed by branch management.
- Monitor shelf levels throughout the trading day and action replenishment proactively to avoid out-of-stock situations.
🗂️ Merchandising & Store Displays
- Maintain store displays to ensure they are visually appealing, correctly priced, and neatly presented at all times.
- Arrange and face-up products in accordance with planograms and branch display standards.
- Assist with the setup of promotional displays and seasonal product features as required.
- Ensure all price labels and product tags are accurate, visible, and up to date.
🧹 Housekeeping & Store Standards
- Maintain general housekeeping of the store, including aisles, shelves, stockroom areas, and customer-facing zones.
- Ensure the branch presents a clean, organised, and professional environment at all times.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and housekeeping protocols applicable to the retail environment.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged stock to the relevant supervisor without delay.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) — minimum requirement.
- Any additional retail, sales, or technical certificate will be advantageous.
Experience
- Entry-level — no formal work experience required, though any prior retail or customer service exposure will be beneficial.
- Previous exposure to the automotive, engineering, tools, or machinery environment will be given preference.
