About the Role

As a Retail Divisional Manager at Dis-Chem Pharmacies, you will hold total operational and commercial accountability for driving business growth across an entire geographic division. Working closely with Category Managers and support functions, you will ensure every store in your division delivers a consistent, high-standard customer experience while hitting margin, growth, and cost-control targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Execution & Commercial Growth

  • Translate national and territory retail strategies into actionable regional execution plans across sales, margin, stock availability, and cost control.

  • Identify operational performance gaps within the division and implement targeted growth and turnaround initiatives.

  • Monitor regional trends, competitor dynamics, market threats, and business expansion opportunities.

  • Perform regular, structured store visits across assigned regions to evaluate operational standards and audit compliance.

Governance, Risk & Operational Excellence

  • Enforce strict compliance with operational standards, industry health and safety regulations, and corporate policies.

  • Oversee divisional audit outcomes, stock shrinkage prevention plans, cash-handling security, and risk management strategies.

  • Escalate operational risks and report divisional performance metrics directly to executive leadership.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Professional Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related commercial field; OR

  • 7 to 10 years’ proven experience in regional, multi-store retail operations or executive management roles — essential

  • Demonstrated track record of leading large, multi-site retail teams and driving commercial growth in high-volume environments.
