Key Responsibilities
Merchandising, Stock Control & Shelf Maintenance

Ensure a full range of products is neatly displayed and continuously restocked on sales floor shelves to maximize sales.

Monitor stock expiration dates regularly and practice proper stock rotation (FEFO – First-Expired, First-Out).

Unpack incoming deliveries, store items correctly in the storeroom, flatten empty boxes, and maintain general storeroom cleanliness.

Verify merchandise labels and shelf pricing, reporting any discrepancies or price changes to management immediately.

Identify, document, and report damaged, low, or out-of-stock items to store management.

Assist with stock counts, inventory file updates, and general store stocktaking procedures.
Point of Sale, Cash Handling & Customer Service

Greet customers courteously, answer merchandise inquiries, and resolve out-of-stock queries promptly according to Dis-Chem standards.

Transact customer purchases using the POS operating system, accepting cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons.

Process partner loyalty cards and benefit accelerators (e.g., Discovery Vitality, Momentum Multiply, eBucks).

Deposit cash into drop safes securely according to company SOPs and maintain accurate till float control.

Ensure all line voids, price adjustments, and product exchanges are approved and signed by a Frontshop Leader.

Keep the till area organized and maintain daily takings safely inside the till drawer until dropped.
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workstation and shopping area in accordance with Dis-Chem housekeeping standards.

Handle all merchandise with care to prevent breakage, loss, or store shrinkage.

Report suspicious customer or staff behavior to store management to reduce fraud and theft risks.

Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) rules, company policies, and the official Dis-Chem uniform and appearance code.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Citizenship

Experience & Essential Skills
