About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies relies heavily on precision logistics to maintain its position as a leading retail and pharmaceutical brand in South Africa. As a Receiving Clerk at the Lynnwood Road store, you are the critical gatekeeper of the store’s inventory system. Every item that transitions from supply trucks to the retail shelves must pass through your rigorous verification process.
This role demands an analytical, systematic individual who can seamlessly balance administrative precision with demanding physical labor. You will be responsible for scanning, capturing, and cross-referencing high volumes of stock against delivery invoices, identifying variances, and processing supplier returns instantly. By keeping the back-dock flow moving efficiently, you ensure that stock receipts are captured on the same day, directly supporting the sales floor and fulfilling customer needs within the store.
The ideal candidate brings strong numerical literacy, the ability to operate stock rotation systems under pressure, and outstanding communication skills required to manage interactions with suppliers, sales representatives, and store managers. Working in Dis-Chem’s receiving division provides an associate with robust experience in enterprise inventory management, high-risk stock controls, and supply chain compliance.
Please note: Candidates must be physically fit and fully capable of regularly lifting and moving heavy boxes weighing more than 20kg within a fast-moving receiving bay.
Having previous receiving experience within the retail or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors, bilingual capabilities, and operational knowledge of stock rotation tracking systems will be highly advantageous.
