About the Role

The Production Supervisor position at Albany Bakery is a pivotal supervisory role centered on shift leadership, manufacturing efficiency, and quality assurance. Deep familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), plant health and safety regulations, and production line efficiency metrics is essential.

Shift Leadership & Production Operations

• Direct and oversee daily production shift operations to achieve volume targets, plant yield metrics, and operational efficiency goals.

• Allocate shift resources, assign production duties to operators, and manage workforce scheduling effectively.

• Monitor machine performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and coordinate with maintenance engineering teams to minimize downtime.

Quality Compliance & SOP Enforcement

• Ensure strict adherence to Albany quality benchmarks, ingredient mixing standards, baking specifications, and packaging guidelines.

• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all stages of production line workflows.

• Conduct regular shift inspections and product audits to prevent quality non-conformances.

Health, Safety & Environmental Integrity

• Drive a safety-first culture by enforcing established site safety management systems, risk assessments, and PPE rules.

• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementations alongside site safety officers.

• Ensure strict compliance with food safety management standards (FSSC 22000) and plant hygiene protocols.

Team Management & Continuous Improvement

• Mentor, train, and evaluate shift operators and general assistants to improve technical competencies and team morale.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean Manufacturing, waste reduction) on the plant floor.

Educational Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Food Technology, or relevant Technical field.

Experience & Industry Knowledge

• Proven supervisory or team leader experience within an FMCG, food manufacturing, commercial bakery, or high-volume industrial plant environment.

• Working knowledge of Albany quality standards, SOP implementation, and manufacturing safety systems.
