About the Role
As a Permanent Cashier at Dis-Chem Fourways Mall, you will deliver frontline point-of-sale customer service while operating Dis-Chem’s POS system in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
Your day-to-day focus will center on processing sales accurately, preventing fraud, maintaining cash drawer security, and driving customer satisfaction. You will build positive relationships with shoppers, address merchandise inquiries, process returns/exchanges when authorized, and ensure all items and medical scripts leaving the store are scanned and paid for.

Key Performance Areas & Job Objectives
Point of Sale (POS) & Financial Accuracy

Process customer purchases accurately on the Dis-Chem operating system using cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons.

Process partner loyalty cards including Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks.

Perform cash drops into safe drop boxes per standard operating procedures, ensuring zero tolerance toward inaccuracies or fraud risk.

Ensure all line voids, price changes, and product exchanges are signed off by the Frontline Supervisor or store management.

Maintain complete confidentiality regarding till password codes, cash float levels, and daily store takings.
Customer Service & Security Operations

Execute Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles to deliver a welcoming shopping experience.

Report customer feedback, compliments, and complaints promptly to management.

Stay updated on current catalogue sales, store promotions, and product locations.

Remain alert to suspicious activity on the trading floor and follow security protocols to prevent stock loss.

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Essential).
