Beyond drawing blood, you will perform essential point-of-care health tests—including glucose, cholesterol, Hb, blood pressure, and BMI measurements—while maintaining meticulous electronic medical records (EMR). Operating in a modern retail clinic environment, you will uphold strict infection control standards, manage biohazard waste disposal, and ensure that every patient feels comfortable, informed, and respected.

Key Responsibilities

Phlebotomy & Laboratory Specimen Management

  • Perform safe, precise venipuncture and capillary blood collection following strict clinical protocols and infection prevention standards.

  • Label, prepare, process, and package biological specimens accurately for laboratory transport and analysis.

  • Maintain complete documentation and tracking logs for all collected samples using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Safely dispose of sharps, needles, and biohazard waste in full compliance with clinic policy and health regulations.

Primary Health Screening & Patient Assessment

  • Conduct point-of-care screening tests, including:

    • Blood pressure monitoring

    • Finger-prick blood glucose testing

    • Total Cholesterol and Lipogram profiles

    • Finger-prick Haemoglobin (HB) testing

    • Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations

    • Urine dipstick analysis & pregnancy tests

    • Vital signs collection as required by nursing staff

  • Record and communicate screening results accurately to patients and clinic practitioners.

Patient Care, Infection Control & Clinic Operations

  • Verify patient identity and explain clinical procedures clearly to secure informed consent.

  • Offer reassuring, professional care to pediatric, elderly, and anxious patients.

  • Maintain workstation hygiene, sterilize clinical instruments, and enforce PPE compliance.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications
