About the Role
As a Casual Merchandiser at Dis-Chem Rustenburg, you will execute and maintain Dis-Chem’s visual merchandising standards while supporting frontline floor operations and customer satisfaction.
Your daily tasks will center on shelf restocking, ensuring continuous product availability, building promotional displays according to planograms, checking shelf pricing and barcode labels, and enforcing First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation to prevent expired inventory. You will also assist with loading/off-loading stock, conducting stock counts, managing the store stockroom, and addressing customer product inquiries.

Key Performance Areas & Job Objectives
Visual Merchandising & Shelf Presentation

Execute store layout plans, planograms, and merchandising display guidelines across frontshop aisles.

Ensure full ranges of products are continuously stocked, faced up, and neatly presented on shelves.

Verify shelf tags, pricing labels, and ensure non-barcoded items are clearly marked.

Report price discrepancies, layout errors, and damaged display units directly to store management.
Stock Management & Floor Control

Unpack incoming deliveries and transfer stock from storerooms to shop floor shelves timeously.

Execute regular First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation to ensure no expired products remain on trading shelves.

Monitor shelf stock levels and report low-stock, out-of-stock, damaged, or expired items to store supervisors.

Participate in general stocktaking, counting stock files, and maintaining storeroom organization.

Assist with loading/off-loading stock and ensure unpacked boxes are flattened and disposed of in designated areas.
Customer Service & Loss Prevention

Provide friendly, professional assistance to shoppers on the trading floor and resolve product queries using out-of-stock tracking lists.

Handle all merchandise carefully to prevent stock shrinkage, breakage, and financial loss.

Maintain strict adherence to Dis-Chem policies, Health and Safety regulations, uniform guidelines, and badge policies.
Minimum Requirements – Casual Merchandiser

Reliable personal transport or residing in close proximity to Rustenburg stores (Essential).

Work Experience & Technical Competencies
