As a Retail Cashier, you will be the primary point of contact at the checkout paypoint. Your main responsibility is to control and execute all point-of-sale cash, card, and account transactions accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

Point of Sale (POS) & Cashiering Operations

• Administer and control all cash, credit/debit card, and account payment transactions at the checkout paypoint.

• Process paypoint sales accurately using point-of-sale software and scanning systems.

• Issue official receipts to customers and ensure payments are allocated correctly to customer accounts or cash ledgers.

• Handle back-office card transaction reconciliations and match card slips against daily batch reports.

Banking & Cash Reconciliations

• Reconcile daily till floats, balancing cash drawers against system sales totals at the end of each shift.

• Prepare daily banking deposits, including all cheques, cash, and electronic terminal receipts according to strict financial procedures.

• Identify and resolve minor cash float discrepancies immediately, reporting unresolved variances to store management.

Customer Service & Store Support

• Provide friendly, fast, and professional client service to farmers, contractors, and retail shoppers.

• Handle customer inquiries, account payment questions, and conflict situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.

• Assist with basic administrative tasks, price checks, and paypoint area housekeeping to ensure a clean checkout space.

Educational Qualifications
