About the Role

The Assistant General Worker plays an essential site support role within Fraser Alexander’s mining operations in Limpopo. Working side by side with on-site operational teams, you will perform routine site inspections, assist under supervision with pipeline and valve tasks, maintain pristine site housekeeping, and execute all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards.

This position demands a motivated, safety-conscious individual holding a Grade 12 certificate, physical and medical fitness, and a strong commitment to teamwork in industrial site environments.

Important Site Requirements: Candidates must possess a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate and a minimum of 1 year of relevant operational experience. Applicants must pass pre-employment criminal screening, be medically fit for mining work, and be prepared to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.

Operational Site Support & Tasks

• Collaborate daily with site supervisors and operational teams to support production goals, targets, and tailings dam maintenance tasks.

• Perform routine daily inspections across designated areas of responsibility, identifying and reporting hazards, equipment deviations, or risks immediately.

• Support pipeline and valve operations under direct supervisor guidance.

• Assist with operational problem-solving and escalate site deviations to management timeously.

• Execute all assigned general site activities and manual operational tasks as directed.

Housekeeping, Safety & SOP Compliance

• Perform basic housekeeping duties in work areas, site yards, and around plant infrastructure to uphold a safe, clean, and organized environment.

• Execute every assigned task in strict accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and task instructions.

• Comply fully with all safety rules, mining regulations, and company safety procedures to promote a zero-harm workplace.

Educational Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric / Senior Certificate).

Work Experience & Technical Exposure

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in general worker, site assistant, mining, construction, or heavy industrial operations.

General & Physical Requirements

• Positive screening results, including a criminal background check.

• Must be physically, mentally, and medically fit to undertake operational duties on active mining sites.

• Willingness and availability to work rotating shifts and overtime when operational needs require.
