The primary purpose of the Business Development Manager (KwaZulu-Natal) is to direct Field Sales Managers (FSMs) and Independent Contractors (ICs) in identifying high-volume selling locations, expanding Stop Order facilities, and driving sales of legal insurance and funeral policies while strictly adhering to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and FAIS regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee all aspects of field team management, including performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary procedures.

• Manage staff performance and continuous development initiatives across the KZN region.

• Inspire and motivate Field Sales Managers and Independent Contractors to meet and exceed monthly sales targets.

Stop Order Market & Business Growth

• Collaborate closely with Field Sales Managers to target Stop Order business and open new payroll facility opportunities.

• Identify optimal field selling locations to maximize high-quality sales of legal expenses insurance and funeral cover policies.

• Ensure marketing materials and sales assets are deployed and maintained in line with official company brand standards.

Recruitment, Fleet & Compliance Governance

• Facilitate continuous recruitment, training, and support for sales team leaders, field consultants, and managers to maintain a strong pipeline.

• Ensure branch vehicles comply strictly with company fleet procedures and performance metrics.

• Enforce full compliance with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and TCF principles to ensure customer transparency and fairness.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Educational Baseline & Regulatory Status

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent (Essential).

• Tertiary Education: Relevant qualification in Marketing, Sales, or Business Administration is advantageous.

• Regulatory Exams: Completed FSB/FSCA Regulatory Examination (RE5) is highly advantageous.

• Criminal Record: Clear criminal record is compulsory.

Work Experience & Sales Track Record

• Insurance Sector Experience: Minimum 5 years of sales experience within the insurance industry.

• Management Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sales Manager directly managing a team of Field Sales Managers.

Operational & Mobility Requirements

• Driver’s Credentials: Valid Driver’s License and Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
