About the Role

The New Vehicles Sales Manager will take full responsibility for the Renault new car sales floor, leading the sales team to achieve targets, maximise profitability, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

This role requires a strong leader with proven automotive sales management experience, capable of driving performance, implementing effective sales processes, and ensuring compliance with dealership and OEM standards.


Key Responsibilities of a New Vehicles Sales Manager

Sales Leadership & Performance

  • Lead and manage the new vehicle sales team to achieve sales targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Monitor weekly sales performance and ensure targets are met.

Customer Satisfaction & Retention

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve customer complaints effectively and timeously.
  • Maintain dealership service excellence standards.

Sales Operations & Strategy

  • Develop and structure the sales organisation to meet objectives.
  • Ensure adequate vehicle stock levels and proper inventory management.
  • Oversee pricing policies, discounts, and trade-in deals.

Financial & Budget Control

  • Monitor departmental financial performance regularly.
  • Ensure cost control within approved budgets.
  • Maximise back-end product sales and profitability.

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop Sales Executives.
  • Ensure team members receive product and new model training.
  • Motivate and guide the team to achieve performance goals.

Compliance & Process Management

  • Ensure all vehicles are delivered according to OEM quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor floorplan activities and stock levels.
  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements – New Vehicles Sales Manager

Education:

  • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) — essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF6+ in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management) — advantageous

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ vehicle sales experience — essential
  • Proven experience in new vehicle sales — essential
  • Previous sales management experience — preferred
  • Strong track record in achieving sales targets — essential

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in vehicle pricing, valuation, and trade-in processes — essential
  • Understanding of OEM target management and margin programmes — advantageous
  • Knowledge of dealership systems and processes
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities

Technical Requirements:

  • Computer literacy (MS Office and dealer management systems)
  • Knowledge of competitive automotive market
