About the Role
The Warehouse Operator: Picking is responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and counting products according to picking instructions. The role plays a critical part in the order fulfilment process, ensuring that customer orders are prepared correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
This position requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Loose Case and Layer Picking
The successful candidate will perform loose case and layer picking by accurately selecting and collecting products based on picking instructions. Ensuring order accuracy and completeness is essential to maintaining service standards.
Packing and Pallet Stability
You will pack picked items securely and efficiently, using correct packaging materials and labelling. Maximising pallet stability during the picking process is critical to ensure safe in-transit handling and delivery.
Order Verification and Stock Accuracy
Responsibilities include counting and verifying picked items, indicating out-of-stock or short-picked items, and reporting discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory control and order fulfilment.
Equipment Use and Warehouse Navigation
The role requires effective use of picking equipment, including electric pallet jacks, to move efficiently through the warehouse and locate products safely and accurately.
Inventory and Quality Control Support
You will collaborate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock records and report any damaged goods, incorrect labelling, or packaging issues for resolution.
Housekeeping, Safety, and Compliance
Maintaining a clean and organised work area is essential to minimise errors and promote efficiency. Strict adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and PPE requirements is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification

Minimum 1โ3 yearsโ experience in a similar picking role (FMCG retail experience preferred)

Valid Electric Pallet Jack License
