AFGRI Animal Feeds is recruiting a Warehouse Manager to be based in Isando, Gauteng. This permanent management role is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, stock control, loading, and distribution activities within the animal feed production factory environment.

The successful candidate will manage distribution logistics, third-party transport providers, and warehouse staff performance while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. This role is ideal for experienced distribution supervisors with strong leadership capability and knowledge of agricultural feed manufacturing logistics.

The Warehouse Manager will ensure efficient distribution operations, cost control management, and customer service excellence within the animal feed supply chain environment.

Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing stock control, loading operations, and distribution planning within the factory environment. The role includes administrative management of logistics activities and maintaining effective control over distribution operations.

The position plays a critical role in supporting production supply chain continuity and customer delivery performance within the AFGRI Animal Feeds business unit.

Key Responsibilities

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing the distribution and logistics function within the animal feed production factory. This includes overseeing stock movements from production to distribution channels and ensuring accurate inventory records.

Transport management is a key responsibility. The candidate must demonstrate experience in managing hired transport services and third-party logistics service providers. Strong supplier relationship management is required to maintain reliable delivery performance.

Human resource management and team leadership are essential components of this role. The Warehouse Manager will supervise distribution staff, monitor performance, and ensure effective workforce productivity within warehouse operations.

Budget management responsibilities include planning operational budgets, controlling distribution costs, and managing operational expenses to ensure financial efficiency.

Customer service and client relationship management is required when coordinating deliveries and resolving distribution queries. Maintaining high service standards is essential for customer satisfaction and business continuity.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 qualification is required.

A Diploma in Distribution Management, Stock Management, or Warehouse Management is required.

Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an animal feed factory or similar production distribution environment is required. Candidates must demonstrate understanding of the full production distribution process.

Minimum 4 years’ supervisory experience within distribution or warehouse operations is required.

Technical Knowledge and Competencies

Computer literacy is essential, particularly MS Office applications.

Strong knowledge of production and manufacturing distribution processes is required.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.

Strong leadership and management capability is required to supervise warehouse teams effectively.

Product knowledge relating to animal feed products and production logistics is advantageous.

Strong planning, organising, and prioritisation skills are required to manage distribution schedules and operational workflows.

Technical knowledge of delivery vehicles and transport logistics equipment is required.
