Key Duties and Core Responsibilities

Successful candidates will support trade test assessments and operational housekeeping at the INDLELA trade testing facility:
  • Assessment Support: Provide trade test candidates with required tools, materials, and support services during practical assessment sessions.
  • Material Preparation: Prepare assessment tools, machinery, and consumable stock properly a day before scheduled trade tasks.
  • Workshop Safeguarding: Maintain secure custody of assessment areas, workshop tools, machinery, and allocated stock.
  • Housekeeping & Cleanliness: Ensure general workshop cleanliness, proper storekeeping, and hygiene of tools and testing equipment.
  • Maintenance & Asset Handling: Perform basic repairs and minor maintenance on testing aids and workshop machinery. Transport allocated assets to and from asset management units as required.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols within testing environments.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Applicants must possess a combination of practical workshop familiarity and communication capabilities:
  • Technical Awareness: Basic technical background across trade testing environments and machinery operations.
  • Health & Safety: Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines, basic safety compliance, and proper cleaning chemical usage.
  • Resource Handling: Capability to select, prepare, and identify correct assessment tools, materials, and inventory items for specific trades.
  • Basic Literacy: Communication, reading, and writing skills necessary to navigate workshop logs and instructions.
