About the Role
The Retail Store Assistant plays an essential operational role at Dis-Chem Cresta, working directly alongside store leadership to maintain administrative accuracy and floor efficiency. Your responsibilities span managing POS floats, balancing shorts and overs, logging Distribution Centre (DC) claims, reconciling daily cash runs, monitoring high-risk stock, and resolving customer queries in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and SAP systems.
This role requires an organized, trustworthy, and deadline-driven professional with a Matric certificate, prior retail experience, functional SAP knowledge, and strong leadership abilities under busy store conditions.

Store Operations & Administrative Control

Assist store management with day-to-day administrative tasks, document control, petty cash management, and cash-on-hand reconciliations.

Manage point-of-sale cash floats, prepare branch change requirements, and reconcile cash shorts and overs daily.

Prepare daily run reconciliations and maintain complete document control across cash handling and administrative workflows.

Receiving & Stock Management

Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging Distribution Centre (DC) claims on the official claims system.

Manage and strictly control high-risk stock items to minimize shrinkage, loss, and stock discrepancies.
Customer Service & Floor Leadership

Handle customer inquiries, manage stock availability queries, and escalate complaints or compliments to store management.

Maintain professional client relationships and adhere to company customer-turnover-per-hour benchmarks.

Act as an operational team player, supporting floor staff and floor managers to uphold store standards.
Educational Qualifications
