As the Mill Manager in Pietermaritzburg, you will take full operational ownership of the facility’s production parameters, asset management, financial budgeting, and workforce safety. You will lead cross-functional milling teams to keep mechanical and milling downtime below strict targets (Wheat & Maize downtime <3.0% and <3.5%), enforce Food Safety recertifications, manage grain insect fumigation protocols, and ensure product quality consistency scores exceed benchmark standards.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Operational Efficiency

Drive plant throughput to achieve design capacities across wheat and maize milling processes.

Maintain equipment availability by implementing proactive maintenance schedules and ensuring critical spare parts inventory.

Keep milling and mechanical downtime below strict targets (<3.0% for wheat milling hours and <3.5% for maize milling hours).

Resolve high-level technical issues and manage engineering projects within approved budget parameters.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
