Purpose of the Role

Sample Processing & Diagnostic Analysis
- Process routine and urgent clinical pathology samples accurately, efficiently, and in strict accordance with Ampath’s laboratory protocols, quality management standards, and HPCSA regulatory requirements.
- Perform clinical pathology analyses across the full scope of the Medical Technologist’s authorised competency — delivering results that meet the accuracy, turnaround time, and quality standards expected by referring clinicians.
- Prioritise urgent samples appropriately — ensuring that critical results reach clinicians in time to support time-sensitive clinical decisions.
- Identify and escalate any sample integrity concerns, abnormal findings, or instrument anomalies in accordance with Ampath’s quality and escalation procedures.
