Zulzi is seeking a commercially driven and analytical – Inventory Manager to lead demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and planning initiatives across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for improving, reducing wastage and shrinkage risks, optimising stock investment, and providing insights that support strategic business decisions.
This role will work closely with Finance to ensure that Zulzi maintains the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time, while improving profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Wastage, Shrinkage & Loss Prevention
- Develop and implement processes to identify, measure, and reduce wastage and shrinkage across the business.
- Analyse inventory variances and investigate root causes of losses.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Operations teams to improve stock controls.
- Identify risks within inventory processes and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of controls that improve inventory accountability and reduce financial leakage.
Commercial & Financial Insights
- Provide financial and operational insights that support better purchasing and inventory decisions.
- Analyse the impact of inventory decisions on profitability, cost of sales, margins, and cash flow.
- Support the CFO and CEO with strategic reporting and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance business performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Merchandising, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and business objectives.
- Drive accountability across teams through accurate reporting and data-driven insights.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational performance.
Process Improvement & Data Analytics
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve forecasting and planning processes.
- Build and maintain reporting tools that provide visibility into inventory performance and business trends.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity to support effective decision-making.
- Use analytics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in forecasting, inventory planning, supply chain analytics, commercial finance, or a related role.
- Experience within e-commerce, retail, FMCG, logistics, or fast-paced operational environments would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, demand planning, and business analytics.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability.
- Ability to analyse large datasets and convert insights into business actions.
- Experience with AI tools to optimise work flow and data visualisation tools would be advantageous.
