This role supports planned and reactive maintenance across building infrastructure, ensuring that facilities are safe, functional, and maintained in line with Tsebo and Huawei standards.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong hands-on maintenance experience who are comfortable working across multiple trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance within a professional facilities environment.
About the Role
The Handyman is responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance services across assigned sites. The role ensures that building infrastructure, fixtures, and fittings are maintained efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable safety standards and procedures.
The position requires a proactive and service-oriented individual who can respond to maintenance requests, complete work orders accurately, and support subcontractors when required.
Key Responsibilities
The Handyman is responsible for repairing and maintaining lighting, plumbing, basic electrical systems, carpentry, fixtures, and general building infrastructure.
Regular inspections are conducted to identify maintenance issues, with all findings logged accurately for follow-up and reporting purposes.
The role includes supporting subcontractor work on site, ensuring that all activities comply with safety regulations and site requirements.
The Handyman maintains tools, equipment, and workshop areas, ensuring cleanliness, order, and readiness for daily tasks.
Work orders, maintenance reports, and service records must be completed accurately and timeously in line with Tsebo procedures.
The incumbent responds professionally to client queries, addressing issues where possible and escalating matters appropriately when required.
Facilities and Maintenance Support
This role supports the smooth operation of facilities by ensuring that maintenance issues are resolved efficiently and that infrastructure remains safe and functional. The Handyman works closely with facilities teams, contractors, and site management to maintain service continuity.
A strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and customer service is essential to success in this role.

Qualifications and Experience
Matric is required.
An NQF Level 4 technical qualification is advantageous.
Between 2 and 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance or a similar handyman role is required.
Candidates must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools, with practical experience in plumbing and basic electrical systems.
Strong time-management skills and a customer-service focus are essential.
