As a Handyman within Tsebo Facilities Solutions, you will be deployed at the Rustenburg site to carry out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across building infrastructure. Your work will directly support the operational integrity of the facility, ensuring that all systems — from lighting and plumbing to carpentry and electrical fixtures — are maintained to the highest standards of safety and functionality, in line with Tsebo and Huawei service delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities
🔧 Planned & Reactive Maintenance
- Repair and maintain building systems including lighting, plumbing, electrical installations, carpentry, and general fixtures and fittings.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with scheduled work orders and site maintenance plans.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to reactive maintenance requests, minimising downtime and disruption to the facility.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to the required quality standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Identify recurring faults or systemic maintenance issues and report findings to the relevant supervisor or facilities manager.
🔍 Inspections & Issue Logging
- Conduct regular building and infrastructure inspections to identify defects, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements.
- Log all identified issues accurately in the relevant maintenance management system or work order platform.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities carried out on site.
- Ensure that all work orders are completed accurately with the correct detail, timings, and outcomes recorded.
- Escalate unresolved or complex maintenance issues to the facilities management team without delay.
🤝 Subcontractor Support & Compliance
- Support subcontractor work on site, providing access, oversight assistance, and on-the-ground coordination as required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities — including subcontracted work — are carried out in full compliance with applicable safety regulations and site standards.
- Adhere at all times to Tsebo and Huawei health, safety, and quality compliance frameworks.
- Report any safety violations, non-compliance incidents, or near-misses in accordance with the site’s incident reporting procedures.
🛠️ Tools, Workshop & Equipment Management
- Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and fit for purpose at all times.
- Uphold workshop cleanliness and organisation standards, ensuring the maintenance area is always safe and orderly.
- Conduct regular checks on tool condition and report damaged or missing equipment to the supervisor promptly.
- Ensure the correct tools are used for each task in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
📋 Client Relations & Administration
- Respond to client queries professionally and in a timely manner, providing clear updates on maintenance progress and expected completion times.
- Escalate client concerns that cannot be resolved at the handyman level to the facilities manager or relevant point of contact.
- Complete all required work orders, maintenance reports, and administrative documentation accurately and on time.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Matric / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) — minimum requirement.
- A relevant NQF Level 4 technical qualification (e.g., in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or building maintenance) is advantageous.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years’ proven experience in a facilities management, building maintenance, or handyman role.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out maintenance across multiple disciplines including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Prior experience working within a structured facilities management or contract environment is advantageous.
Licences
