About the Role

The General Worker position at the TWK Agri Timber Nursery serves as a critical operational component in keeping the nursery infrastructure, plant production areas, and grounds running smoothly. Operating in an active forestry nursery environment, the successful candidate will carry out essential property maintenance, operate agricultural tractors, repair irrigation lines, and support loading logistics.

This permanent position is ideal for a physically fit candidate with a Grade 12 certificate, practical repair skills, and hands-on experience operating tractors and general maintenance machinery within manual labor or agricultural settings.

Important Operational Requirements: Candidates must possess a Matric / Grade 12 certificate, tractor driving experience, and previous manual labor experience. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, garden machinery, and safe chemical application is required. A valid Code 10 Driver’s License with PDP is highly advantageous.

Groundskeeping & Nursery Infrastructure Maintenance

• Cut lawns, maintain pathways, clean work areas, and execute general garden upkeep across the nursery grounds.

• Repair and service nursery infrastructure, including irrigation pipes, shade nets, plant tables, and water distribution fittings.

• Clean, maintain, and properly store tools, power equipment, and machinery after daily use.

Machinery Operation & Vehicle Support

• Safely drive and operate agricultural tractors and basic groundskeeping machinery to support daily nursery workflows.

• Assist with the manual loading and offloading of delivery trucks, soil media, seedling trays, and timber nursery supplies.

Chemical Handling & Nursery Care

• Safely handle, mix, and apply herbicides, pesticides, and growth treatments in strict accordance with chemical safety guidelines.

• Perform general property maintenance tasks, fault troubleshooting, and practical repairs as directed by nursery supervisors.

Operational Safety & Reliability

• Work safely and efficiently outdoors across all seasonal weather conditions.

• Maintain excellent punctuality, personal reliability, and the capability to work independently or in a team setting.

Educational Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Tractor driving experience and a proven background in manual labor or agricultural maintenance.
