About the Role

The VKB Group operates as a “house of brands” including VKB, GWK, and NTK, supporting local farmers with agricultural inputs, farming equipment, retail products, and grain services across South Africa. The GWK Retail branch in Magogong / Hartswater serves as a crucial supply hub for local agricultural producers.

As a Forklift Driver, you will play a central role in store logistics and yard operations. You will operate counter-balance forklifts to move palletized agricultural inputs, fertilizer, seed, and retail goods across the warehouse and yard premises. Additionally, you will oversee the safe offloading of supplier stock, load dispatch trucks for client deliveries, assist farmers with order loading, and maintain clean, hazard-free store facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift Operation & Stock Dispatch

• Operate counter-balance forklifts safely to lift, move, and stack palletized stock inside store warehouses and outdoor yards.

• Safely load customer dispatch trucks and delivery vehicles with agricultural products according to invoice specifications.

• Control and supervise the offloading of incoming stock from suppliers and long-haul delivery trucks.

• Perform daily pre-operational forklift safety checks, monitoring hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, and battery/fuel systems.

Customer Service & Store Operations

• Assist visiting farmers, clients, and suppliers with loading and offloading agricultural goods politely and efficiently.

• Ensure 100% accuracy in stock handling to prevent inventory discrepancies, product damage, or shrinkage.

• Assist with general retail yard functions, including stock staging, tire overhaul/repairs (where applicable), and general housekeeping.

• Execute ad-hoc duties assigned by store management to maintain smooth operational workflow.

Safety, Cleaning & Compliance

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse aisles, loading bays, and yard premises.

• Perform regular cleaning duties, including clearing broken pallets, sweeping bay floors, and disposing of packaging waste.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or NQF4 Qualification — mandatory baseline requirement

• Valid Forklift Operator License (or willingness to undergo re-examination/recertification) — mandatory

• Code 10 Driver’s License with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) — strong added advantage

Work Experience & Technical Capabilities

• At least 3 years’ practical experience as a forklift driver in a retail, agricultural, or logistics warehouse setting — mandatory
