As a Financial Associate, you will be part of a dynamic team that drives client acquisition, promotes financial wellness, and provides exceptional service to clients across the East Rand.


Position Overview

The Financial Associate plays a key role in marketing insurance products, recruiting clients for the Funeral Division, and supporting the company’s financial services initiatives. This position requires motivated individuals with strong interpersonal skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to thrive in a competitive sales environment.

You will be responsible for delivering measurable results in client acquisition and product sales, while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing and Sales

  • Promote and market Funeral Insurance, Savings Plans, and related financial products.

  • Identify and engage potential clients to expand the customer base.

  • Develop strategies to reach sales targets and improve market penetration.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups.

2. Client Recruitment for Funeral Division

  • Recruit clients specifically for the Funeral Division.

  • Ensure that all client documentation is accurately completed and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure high retention rates.

3. Administrative Duties

  • Manage daily administrative tasks, including client records, reporting, and sales documentation.

  • Submit weekly or monthly reports on sales performance and client engagement.

  • Coordinate with team leaders and managers to ensure smooth operations.

4. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with FAIS legislation for registration as a Fit and Proper individual.

  • Adhere to company policies, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate and/or tertiary education with at least 30 credits on NQF level 4.

  • Compliance with FAIS legislation, depending on the year of entry into the financial services industry:

    • 2004–2007 entrants: 30 credits on NQF 4 obtained by 31 December 2009.

    • 2008–2009 entrants: 30 or 60 credits on NQF 4 obtained by 31 December 2011, or full FAIS-recognised qualification obtained by 31 December 2013.

    • 2010 onwards: Full FAIS-recognised qualification required.

  • Clear ITC credit record.

  • Clear criminal record.

  • RE5 certificate will be an advantage.


Experience and Skills

  • Previous marketing experience in insurance or financial services is advantageous.

  • Strong communication, administration, and time management skills.

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transport, and mobile phone.

  • Ability to work independently and meet targets in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
