About the Role
As the District Manager at AVBOB Lebowakgomo Life Office, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and operational performance of the district sales team. You will lead from the front to drive life insurance sales performance, recruit top sales talent, and foster a customer-centric sales culture.
Operating in a regulated long-term insurance environment, you will monitor adherence to all FSCA and FAIS legislation, execute risk management protocols, and identify growth opportunities across the Lebowakgomo region. Key Responsibilities of a District Manager
Sales Team Leadership & Target Achievement

Manage, lead, and optimize a team of life insurance representatives to achieve defined sales targets.

Develop, expand, and penetrate local target markets in Lebowakgomo and surrounding Limpopo areas.

Conduct ongoing performance tracking, coaching, and sales motivation for all sales agents.
Talent Acquisition & Capacity Building

Timeously recruit, select, and appoint high-quality insurance representatives to maintain full sales capacity.

Ensure all appointed representatives receive comprehensive product training, regulatory guidance, and operational support.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Control

Ensure strict adherence to FAIS, FICA, Long-Term Insurance Act (LTIA), and all relevant FSCA legislation.

Maintain risk control protocols, audit readiness, and sound ethical standards across all client interactions.

Ensure all team members remain Fit and Proper in terms of financial sector regulations.
Minimum Requirements – District Manager
Educational Qualifications & FAIS Regulatory Compliance

Grade 12 / Matric Qualification (Essential).

Suitable industry entry qualification within the requirements of the Financial Services Conduct Authority (FSCA).

RE5 (Regulatory Examination Level 5) Certificate for Representatives (Essential).

RE1 (Regulatory Examination Level 1) Certificate for Key Individuals / Managers (Advantageous).

Full FAIS compliance as a Fit and Proper individual based on industry entry date:

Appointed 2004–2007: 30 credits on NQF 4 obtained by 31 December 2009.

Appointed 2008–2009: 30 or 60 credits on NQF 4 obtained by 31 December 2011 OR full FAIS recognized qualification obtained by 31 December 2013.

Appointed 2010 onwards: Full FAIS recognized qualification (NQF 4/5 in Financial Planning/Insurance).

Work Experience & Logistics Requirements

Minimum 3 years of proven, successful track record in the marketing and sales of Life Assurance (Essential).

Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated team management or sales leadership experience (Essential).

Valid Driver’s License and access to own reliable motor vehicle (Essential).
