About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has built its stellar reputation across South Africa on professional, community-centered wellness solutions and exceptional clinical support. In the dispensary at the Irene Link branch in Centurion, the Dispensary Support candidate serves as a vital foundational team member — the person who bridges the gap between secondary education and a long-term professional career in the pharmaceutical sector by learning under the direct personal supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
This is not a passive retail position. It requires an energetic individual who systematically assists with stock unpacking, handles basic scheduled medicine under supervision, maintains immaculate shelf presentation, and processes client requests with maximum accuracy. Beyond customer interaction, you will focus heavily on completing the academic and practical milestones of the learner basic pharmacist assistant course, developing a deep understanding of standard operating procedures, dosage controls, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate holds a completed Matric certificate with a minimum 50% achievement in Pure Mathematics and a Life/Physical Science subject. A commitment to professional conduct, strong time management skills, and the absolute reliability outlined below are essential components of the minimum requirements. Dis-Chem Pharmacies invests heavily in the regulatory training and development of its team, and the successful candidate will reflect that investment in every shift.
Please note: Selected candidates will remain in a Fixed Term Contract capacity as Dispensary Support staff until they have successfully passed their proficiency testing and are formally registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as learner basic assistants. Permanent employment will only be offered once the basic pharmacist assistant qualification is completed.
