Position Overview

Adendorff Machinery Mart is seeking a Counter Sales (2IC) – Tools and Machinery professional for the Boksburg branch. This role is perfect for a dynamic, confident, and customer-focused individual with a passion for sales, tools, and machinery.

As the Second-in-Command (2IC) at the branch, the successful candidate will support branch operations, oversee sales generation, manage stock levels, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service, all while contributing to the branch’s growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Service

  • Assist and advise customers on spares, tools, and machinery.

  • Generate sales to achieve branch growth targets.

  • Promote a positive company image through high-quality customer service.

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and follow-ups professionally.

Stock Control and Administration

  • Maintain proper stock levels and manage inventory.

  • Handle administrative and managerial duties in line with branch procedures.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.

  • Maintain general housekeeping and organization of the branch.

Leadership and Operational Support

  • Provide guidance and supervision to branch staff.

  • Drive sales and performance through exemplary leadership.

  • Follow all branch instructions and operational procedures.

  • Support continuous staff development and product knowledge enhancement.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Previous exposure to automotive, engineering, tools, machinery, or hardware retail.

  • Own reliable vehicle is essential.

  • Strong customer service and sales skills.

  • Confident, reliable, honest, and able to work as a team player.

Advantageous:

  • Technical knowledge in DIY tools, hardware, or machinery.

  • Experience in retail branch procedures and staff supervision.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a South African citizen.

  • Ability to work retail hours:

    • Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

    • Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

  • Own reliable transport is essential.

  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop technical and sales skills.
