Tsebo Solutions Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join Tsebo Cleaning and Hygiene Solutions on a permanent basis in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is critical in ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and service delivery are consistently maintained across the site.

The Cleaning Supervisor plays a hands-on leadership role, overseeing daily cleaning operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring that all cleaning activities comply with company standards, client expectations, and health and safety requirements.

About the Role

The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating cleaning staff and activities on site. The role ensures that cleaning schedules are followed, hygiene standards are upheld, and service delivery meets contractual and operational requirements.

This position requires a strong people manager with practical cleaning experience, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges in a dynamic working environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Cleaning Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily cleaning operations, ensuring that all assigned areas are cleaned to the required standards.

Regular inspections are conducted to ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards, with corrective actions implemented where necessary.

The role includes maintaining cleaning schedules, operational records, and incident reports, ensuring that documentation is accurate and up to date.

The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for training cleaning staff on correct cleaning procedures, safe use of chemicals and equipment, and adherence to Tsebo protocols.

Client queries are addressed professionally, with issues escalated when required to ensure prompt resolution and service continuity.

Cleaning Operations and Compliance

This role requires a working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and hygiene standards. The Cleaning Supervisor ensures that all cleaning activities comply with health and safety requirements and that staff operate safely at all times.

Health and safety training is advantageous, as the role supports safe working practices and compliance across cleaning operations.

Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate will demonstrate basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate and lead teams effectively are essential.

The role requires a supervisor who is organised, reliable, and capable of maintaining high service standards under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

A Grade 12 / Matric certificate is required.

A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a cleaning environment is required, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
