Position Overview

Fidelity Cleaning Services is seeking an experienced Cleaning Area Manager to oversee operations within a designated geographic area in Pretoria. The role focuses on ensuring service excellence, client satisfaction, business retention, and profitability while maintaining strict compliance with company policies, labour legislation, and health and safety standards.

This is a senior operational role requiring strong people management, planning, and client engagement skills.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Ensure daily attendance registers are accurately completed and labour allocations are correct

  • Maintain effective control of all equipment in line with fixed asset policies

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure service standards are met

  • Prepare contingency plans for strikes, stay-aways, and operational disruptions

People & Labour Relations

  • Maintain discipline in line with company disciplinary codes and procedures

  • Address grievances and staff concerns promptly and professionally

  • Conduct employee performance appraisals for supervisory staff and above

  • Communicate policy changes clearly to all affected employees

  • Manage engagements, dismissals, promotions, and pay rate changes with Regional Manager approval

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend and manage client meetings, ensuring minutes are recorded and actions followed up

  • Resolve daily client queries, complaints, and service issues timeously

  • Promote the company’s full range of non-recurring and specialised cleaning services

Administration & Compliance

  • Authorise and submit store orders in line with approval processes

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations

  • Investigate debtor queries and collect payments when required

  • Participate in monthly Area Manager meetings and submit required reports

  • Hold monthly meetings with supervisory staff, including agendas and minutes


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ management experience in industrial, commercial, or similar service industries

  • Grade 12 / Matric (tertiary qualification preferred)

  • Exposure to service sales will be advantageous

  • Exposure to industrial relations at shop-floor level will be advantageous

  • Strong background in operations and/or sales

  • Computer literate with strong MS Excel skills

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
