Position Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Merchandiser for their Cape Road store in Gqeberha. The successful candidate will ensure that merchandising standards are maintained, shelves are fully stocked, and customers receive friendly and professional service.
This role is ideal for entry-level retail professionals with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Restock merchandise to ensure maximum sales and product availability.

Ensure stock is stored, packed, and displayed correctly, adhering to FIFO rotation.

Monitor sell-by dates and maintain accurate stock levels.
-
Build and maintain merchandising displays according to store layout and planograms.
-
Report low stock, damaged items, price discrepancies, and expired stock to management.
-
Assist with stocktaking, back shopping, loading, and off-loading of products.

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store and merchandise displays.
-
Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous service to all customers.

Follow all Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health & safety regulations.

Support the training of new staff and ensure uniform standards are adhered to.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
Experience & Skills:
-
Up to 6 months retail experience (1 year advantageous)

Computer literate – MS Office
-
Strong English communication skills
-
Time management and organizational skills
-
Presentable, trustworthy, and honest
-
Knowledge of FMCG merchandising standards advantageous
Other Requirements:
-
Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends
-
Physically fit to lift and move stock safely
-
Reliable transport or reside close to the store

South African citizen

Clear credit and criminal records
