Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale & Payment Processing

Transact all customer purchases quickly and accurately using the Dis-Chem POS operating system.

Process diverse payment formats including cash, debit/credit cards, vouchers, store coupons, and electronic payments.

Scan and process partner loyalty cards and benefit accelerators (Discovery Vitality, Momentum Multiply, Medihelp, ABSA Rewards, eBucks, and Legacy Lifestyle).

Ensure all outgoing items, front-shop merchandise, and pharmacy prescriptions are properly scanned and paid for before leaving the counter.
Cash Control & Security Compliance

Maintain full responsibility and personal accountability for till cash drawer floats and daily takings.

Perform regular cash drops into secure drop safes following strict internal procedures.

Keep POS access codes and login credentials strictly confidential and protected at all times.

Ensure line voids, price changes, and product returns/exchanges are signed off by a Frontline Supervisor or Store Manager.

Report any suspicious customer or staff behavior to management to minimize shrinkage and fraud risks.
Customer Engagement & Frontline Service
