Position Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Cashier for their Dalpark store in Brakpan. The successful candidate will support customer service at point of sale, ensure accurate transaction recording, and provide a safe, efficient, and friendly shopping experience.
This role is ideal for candidates with cash handling experience, retail knowledge, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities

Process all customer transactions accurately using the Dis-Chem POS system.

Handle cash, card, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty programs securely.

Maintain cash drawer accuracy and manage daily takings confidentially.

Ensure adherence to Dis-Chem customer service policies and 5-star communication principles.

Exchange merchandise and accept returns when authorised.

Monitor sales and promotions to assist customers effectively.
-
Identify and report suspicious behaviour or security risks.

Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with all customers.

Collaborate with store colleagues and management to ensure smooth operations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
Experience & Skills:
-
Minimum of 6 months cashier or till operations experience
-
Computer literate – MS Office
-
Strong numerical and cash handling skills
-
Excellent command of English (written and oral)

Basic customer service skills
Other Requirements:
-
Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends
-
Reliable transport or reside close to the store

South African citizen

Clear credit and criminal records
