About the Role
As an Assistant Store Manager at Clicks Gateway, you will work closely with the Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive financial targets, and maintain competitive brand leadership in a high-turnover retail environment.
You will supervise store teams across departments, ensure active promotion of cross-selling and up-selling initiatives, oversee stock control and shrinkage reduction strategies, and manage daily visual merchandising. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will assume full operational responsibility for the branch, managing staff schedules, employee relations, administrative time-tracking submissions, and customer loyalty (Clicks Clubcard) targets.

Key Performance Areas & Job Objectives
Sales Maximization & Financial Control

Drive store financial performance by supporting daily sales plans, promoting promotional events, and coaching staff on up-selling and cross-selling techniques.

Monitor store operational expenses, manage stock inventory levels, and implement shrinkage control procedures.

Apply financial management principles to analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements, budgets, and sales ratios.
Operations & Merchandising Execution

Execute visual merchandising plans to ensure promotional displays, end-caps, and store layout adhere strictly to Clicks brand standards.

Oversee store housekeeping, stock replenishment, and general administrative workflows.

Manage customer service initiatives to enhance the shopping experience and meet store Clicks Clubcard participation targets.
Team Leadership & HR Administration

Direct, motivate, and manage retail staff to achieve individual and department performance goals.

Maintain daily work schedules in accordance with Clicks labor models and Group labor policies.

Complete weekly time and attendance records, manage staff records, and handle HR submissions accurately.
Minimum Requirements – Assistant Store Manager (Large)
Educational Background & Qualifications

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics and 50% in English (Essential).
