Position Overview

The Assistant Manager: Housekeeping Services (Grade 13) supports the Manager: Housekeeping Services in managing and administering the department to ensure delivery of high-quality housekeeping services across Rhodes University.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with management and administration of Housekeeping Services.
  • Ensure high service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and manage housekeeping staff.
  • Oversee stock control and quality methodologies.
  • Maintain computerized administrative records.
  • Support planning, organization, and hospitality service initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree/diploma (NQF Level 7), preferably in Hospitality Management.
  • ~4 years’ relevant experience, including:
    • Hospitality management and service planning experience.
    • Administrative experience in a computerized environment.
    • At least 3 years’ experience supervising/managing staff.
    • Knowledge of cleaning, quality methodologies, and stock control.
    • Valid driver’s license.
