Position Overview
The Apprentice – Mercedes-Benz Multi Bedfordview will receive hands-on training in vehicle diagnostics, service, and repairs within the service department. The role focuses on developing technical skills, performing accurate fault diagnosis, and ensuring high-quality vehicle servicing in line with Mercedes-Benz standards.
This role is ideal for a young, motivated individual with a passion for automotive engineering, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to learning modern vehicle diagnostic and repair techniques.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical and diagnostic service support within the service department.

Advise colleagues and fellow apprentices on efficient and safe repair methods.

Utilize modern diagnostic equipment effectively to detect faults and assist in vehicle servicing.

Service electrical and mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications.

Conduct accurate fault diagnosis to ensure customer satisfaction.
-
Communicate findings and solutions clearly with Service Advisors and customers.

Adhere to DCSA procedures, policies, and documentation requirements.

Assist in minimizing comebacks by ensuring high-quality repairs.

Attend to breakdown calls and urgent vehicle repairs as required.

Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in a clean, safe, and fully serviced condition.

Manage and return unused parts to the parts department efficiently.

Provide cost-effective solutions to faults and customer complaints.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and workshop environment.

Complete all service documentation and job cards accurately and promptly.

Participate in training courses provided by Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) and Cargo Motors.

Support special campaigns and dealership promotions as required.

Assist with other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science.

N2 – Engineering Science qualification.

Knowledge of Motor Trade Theory.

Basic understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.

Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Physically able to perform hands-on workshop duties safely.
