Position Overview

Bidvest Prestige is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the operations of the Germiston Distribution Centre (GDC).

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day warehouse activities, optimize operational efficiency, supervise staff, and maintain strict compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for a logistics professional with strong leadership and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations Management

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.

  • Ensure all processes meet efficiency, accuracy, and compliance standards.

  • Implement and maintain warehouse policies and SOPs to optimize workflow.

2. Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory management.

  • Ensure accurate records and timely stock reconciliation.

  • Plan and execute shipment and storage strategies to prevent shortages or overstocking.

3. Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship.

  • Foster a high-performing and safety-conscious team culture.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict health and safety protocols in line with company policies.

  • Ensure secure handling of products and materials.

  • Maintain compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

5. Budgeting & Reporting

  • Manage the warehouse budget and optimize cost-effective operations.

  • Generate accurate reports on warehouse activities, performance, and KPIs.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational savings.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with other departments to streamline warehouse processes.

  • Support company-wide initiatives to enhance logistics and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or Operations Supervisor in distribution or logistics.

  • Strong leadership and team management experience.

  • Hands-on experience with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse software.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, stock control, and distribution best practices.
