Key Performance Areas & Duties
The appointed Drivers will execute driving, vehicle maintenance, and routine office support services across the college:
Transportation & Driving Services
-
Drive light and heavy motor vehicles to transport passengers, staff, and official visitors safety across college sites.

Deliver official mail, administrative documents, equipment, and related college items across campuses and external offices.
Vehicle Maintenance & Logbook Administration
-
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks (checking oil, water, tire pressure, and cleaning allocated vehicles).

Report vehicle defects and mechanical issues to the fleet section in a timely manner.

Change and fix flat tires when required while on duty.

Complete all prescribed vehicle logbooks, trip authorizations, mileage logs, and fuel consumable records accurately.
Messenger & Clerical Support Services

Render general messenger services to assigned college departments and registry units.

Assist with routine administrative support, including photocopying, faxing, and collecting or distributing documentation within the college premises.
Minimum Requirements & Competencies
Qualifications & Experience

Grade 10 / Standard 8 qualification or equivalent.

Valid Code 10 / EC1 Driverβs License.

Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

2 to 5 years of relevant driving experience in a commercial or public sector setting.
Knowledge Base

Understanding of relevant road traffic legislation, transport policies, and driving prescripts.

Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance procedures and trip authorization protocols.

Knowledge of logbook completion, fuel writing procedures, and kilometer service tracking.

Familiarity with storage requirements, messenger workflows, and routine registry/office support functions (photocopying, filing).
Required Skills & Competencies

Proven driving proficiency and vehicle handling.

Basic mechanical skills (fixing/changing flat tires, performing minor fluid checks).

Basic reading, writing, and communication skills.

Selection, Vetting & Pre-Entry Assessments

Pre-Entry Assessments: Shortlisted candidates must undergo two pre-entry assessments: a practical driving/technical evaluation and an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.
