About the Role

The Production Controller position at TWK Agri serves as an essential operational driver within the Mkondo Mill grain processing plant. In this associate-level production role, the successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of milling activities—from grain intake and storage to milling, quality control testing, inventory recordkeeping, and final dispatch.

Operating from Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, the Production Controller ensures that daily production schedules run efficiently, raw material waste is minimized, and all end products conform to strict ISO 9001 quality management systems and occupational health and safety standards. This permanent position is ideal for an organized professional with proven experience in grain or feed milling, manufacturing operations, and production data reporting.

Important Operational Requirements: Candidates must hold a Matric / Grade 12 certificate, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification or proven experience within an ISO 9001 environment, and a valid Code 08 Driver’s License. Relevant experience in grain milling, feed milling, grain handling, or manufacturing operations is required.

Production Coordination & Workflow Management

• Oversee, coordinate, and monitor daily grain milling, processing, intake, storage, and dispatch activities.

• Ensure execution of daily production schedules to satisfy operational requirements and meet tight output targets.

• Support maintenance planning by promptly reporting equipment performance bottlenecks, operational issues, and machine downtime.

Inventory, Stock Control & Resource Optimization

• Maintain clean, detailed, and accurate production, stock, and raw material inventory records.

• Monitor raw material usage closely across the milling lifecycle to minimize process waste and reduce yield losses.

• Assist management with production planning, resource allocation, and demand forecasting.

Quality Assurance, ISO 9001 & Compliance

• Perform routine quality control inspections to ensure processed grain products comply with established specifications.

• Enforce strict compliance with food safety regulations, occupational health and safety policies, and environmental standards.

• Investigate production output variances, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Compile, analyze, and present comprehensive daily and monthly production reports to management.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify process improvement opportunities and workflow enhancements.

Educational Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

• ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification or verified practical experience working within an ISO 9001 certified operational environment.

Experience & Domain Knowledge

• Relevant experience in grain milling, feed milling, bulk grain handling, or industrial manufacturing operations.

• Practical understanding of grain processing mechanics, quality control parameters, and stock control principles.

• Familiarity with food safety standards, occupational health and safety legislation, and quality management frameworks.
