You will manage point-of-sale cash floats, handle customer refunds and returns, process branch change requirements for cashiers, and assist the receiving division with distribution centre claims utilizing localized SAP ERP architecture. The Daily Operational and Financial Control Cycle

Maintaining a secure, transparent, and high-performing retail store environment requires a systematic approach to handling physical stock and cash resources. The Retail Store Assistant executes a structured daily transactional sequence, as mapped out below:

1.Delivery Verification & Invoice Auditing:Inventory Ingestion.

Receive incoming freight and stock shipments from central hubs. Verify physical item quantities and invoice declarations with absolute accuracy before routing items to high-risk storage or retail shelves.

2.Point-of-Sale Float & Cash Management:Front-End Support.

Initialize, monitor, and audit front-end cashier floats. Track and declare cash drawer “shorts and overs” dynamically throughout the day to mitigate financial shrinkage.

3.Branch Change Orders & Vault Logistics:Service Optimization.

  • Investigate and rapidly resolve localized customer stock availability queries, coordinating with internal departments to supply accurate item feedback.

2. Financial Governance & Point-of-Sale Control

  • Adhere consistently to the company’s established customer turnover-per-hour rate benchmarks.

  • Authorize, manage, and process standard on-floor customer refund and return transactions securely.

  • Ensure back-shopping merchandise and returned consumer items are cataloged correctly and returned to correct aisles swiftly.

  • Maintain rigorous document control over branch financial elements, including but not limited to point-of-sale floats, petty cash, and cash-on-hand vaults.

3. Supply Chain Logistics & Claims Administration

  • Assist the Receiving Manager in auditing incoming store deliveries for total dimensional accuracy against vendor paperwork.

  • Prepare, organize, and log formal claims on the automated Distribution Centre claims system when shortages or broken stock lines are detected.

  • Monitor, isolate, and safely control identified high-risk inventory items to minimize retail shrinkage.

Minimum Requirements & Desired Profile

  • A completed Grade 12 / Matric senior certificate.

  • Basic computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Practical working familiarity or entry-level exposure to SAP software systems is highly essential.
