What Does a Merchandiser Do at TWK Agri?
Merchandisers at TWK Agri’s Howick Retail store play a key role in delivering an excellent in-store experience for agricultural customers. In this role, you will assist and advise customers on products, ensure all stock is well-merchandised and attractively displayed, keep the store neat and organised, and manage stock control including monthly stock counts. You will also fulfil any other duties assigned by management as operational needs require.
This is a customer-facing, hands-on retail role that requires a Matric certificate, computer literacy, knowledge of hardware and agricultural products, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and isiZulu.
Key Responsibilities of a Merchandiser
Customer Assistance & In-Store Advice
- Assist and advise customers in-store on products stocked by TWK Agri Howick Retail.
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly, and professional service to all customers entering the store.
- Help customers identify the correct products for their agricultural, hardware, or general needs.
- Ensure every customer leaves the store with a positive experience that reflects the TWK Agri brand.
Merchandising & Stock Display
- Merchandise all stock in an attractive, logical, and well-organised manner across the store floor.
- Ensure shelves and display areas are fully stocked, correctly labelled, and visually appealing at all times.
- Apply good marketing skills to product placement and display arrangements that drive sales and customer engagement.
- Identify and replenish low-stock items on the floor and ensure product ranges are always accessible to customers.
Store Housekeeping & Organisation
- Keep the store neat, clean, and well-organised throughout every shift.
- Ensure aisles, shelving, and customer areas are hazard-free and presented to a high standard at all times.
- Return stock, packaging, and equipment to their correct locations after every customer interaction or replenishment task.
Stock Control & Counting
- Perform monthly stock counts accurately and timeously in accordance with store procedures.
- Assist with stock control activities to minimise shrinkage, damage, and stock discrepancies.
- Report any stock variances, damaged goods, or out-of-stock items to management promptly.
General Duties & Management Support
- Fulfil any other reasonable duties assigned by management as operational needs require.
- Support the store team with additional tasks during busy periods, promotions, or stock deliveries.
- Maintain a positive, hardworking attitude and willingness to assist across all areas of the retail operation.
Minimum Requirements – Merchandiser
