What Does a Cashier Do?
As a Cashier at Dis-Chem, you will be responsible for handling all point-of-sale transactions while delivering excellent customer service. Your role is critical in ensuring a smooth checkout experience, maintaining accuracy in transactions, and reducing any risk of fraud or discrepancies.

Returns, Refunds & Loyalty Programmes
- Process refunds and exchanges as authorised

Security & Risk Management
- Follow all Dis-Chem security procedures
- Safeguard cash and ensure it is stored correctly in the till and drop safe
- Monitor and report suspicious behaviour
- Maintain confidentiality regarding daily takings
Operational Compliance
- Follow standard operating procedures at all times
- Ensure personal login details remain secure
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Adhere to required hourly customer service and transaction targets
Minimum Requirements – Cashier
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months cashier or till operation experience
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong numerical skills and accuracy
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
- Good communication skills in English

- Ability to handle transactions efficiently
Work Requirements:
