VKB Group is currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanic to join VKB Mechanisation in Bela-Bela, Limpopo. About the Role

The Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring top-quality service and maintenance of agricultural equipment and vehicles. The role focuses on servicing, repairing, and overhauling mechanical parts to ensure reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance.

This position is suited to a qualified Tractor Mechanic with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.

The successful candidate will work within a team-driven environment while also maintaining direct interaction with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanic will compile quotations according to customer needs and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with required standards.

The role involves servicing, repairing, and overhauling mechanical parts of agricultural equipment and vehicles to maintain optimal functionality and performance.

All worksheets for services rendered must be completed accurately and in accordance with VKB’s policies and procedures.

The Mechanic must comply with all Health and Safety standards at all times while performing duties.

Building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and suppliers forms part of the role, supporting VKB’s service excellence objectives.

The position requires the correct completion of all guarantee claims and related claims information.

The Mechanic will train and mentor relevant personnel regarding VKB’s policies and procedures, contributing to team development and operational consistency.

Cross-marketing of relevant products and promotions is required where applicable.

The role includes continuous liaison with internal departments, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Daily ad hoc duties may be assigned as required to support operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 is required.

Completion of N2 – Tractor Mechanic qualification is essential.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Mechanic is required.

Candidates must demonstrate thoroughness, precision, and accuracy in all work performed.

A clear criminal record is required.

The ability to work effectively within a team environment is essential.

The successful candidate must consistently add value to the current functions of the position through efficiency and technical expertise.

Skills and Competencies

The Mechanic must possess strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills related to agricultural equipment.

Attention to detail and accuracy are critical, especially when compiling quotations and completing service documentation.
