Tsebo Solutions Group is seeking a skilled and service-driven Barista to join Tsebo Catering on a permanent basis in Midrand, Gauteng. About the Role
The Barista is responsible for delivering professional coffee and beverage services while supporting the smooth operation of the catering outlet. This includes preparing a wide range of drinks, handling customer orders and payments, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
This role requires an individual who is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
The Barista is responsible for crafting a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to customer preferences and established company recipes.
Consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all beverages must be maintained at all times.
The role includes experimenting with new recipes and seasonal drink offerings to enhance the menu and improve customer experience.
Customers are greeted warmly, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere is created throughout the service area.
The Barista takes accurate customer orders and provides clear information regarding menu items, ingredients, and potential allergens.
Personalised recommendations are offered to customers based on preferences and feedback.
Payments are processed efficiently using cash, credit cards, and mobile payment methods.
Customer inquiries and concerns related to orders or payments are handled professionally and resolved promptly.
Accurate cash register balances are maintained, and any discrepancies are reported to management.
The Barista is responsible for regularly cleaning and sanitising the work area, including counters, coffee machines, utensils, and seating areas.
Health and safety guidelines are followed at all times to ensure a hygienic and safe environment.
Waste disposal and recycling processes are managed according to company standards.
Inventory levels are monitored, and supplies are restocked as needed to ensure uninterrupted service.
All ingredients are checked to ensure freshness and correct storage.
Orders for new stock are placed, and deliveries are managed appropriately.
Routine checks and basic maintenance on brewing equipment are performed to ensure optimal performance.
Equipment issues are identified, troubleshooted where possible, and reported to management.
The Barista prepares and serves food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and cookies, ensuring quality and freshness.
Food safety guidelines are followed, including correct storage and handling procedures.
The role includes adherence to all health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and sanitation practices.
